ROOS Care releases exciting holiday program

If you haven't booked your children into ROOS Vacation Care, then access the link and do it today.

Your children will thank you for it.  You can contact the College Administration or drop by the ROOS Care Room during the morning or afternoon ROOS Care program.

Some families have a look at the program and allow their children special treats, especially when they go to the movies or TESS Wildlife Park.

ROOS Vacation Care runs from 7.30am until 6.00pm throughout the holidays and yes, we are also open for the Staff Only day on the first day of Term 3 set down for Monday 20 July, 2009.

College collects Mayor’s Environmental Award for 2009

College Principal Mr Tony Wood has gratefully accepted from Hervey Bay Regional Council the 2009 Mayor’s Environmental Award.

The College was awarded the prize by Councillor Sue Brooks as the “2009-Fraser Coast Environmental School” for its water harvesting and re-use project.

All students, particularly student leaders in the Junior, Middle and Senior School sub schools are to be congratulated on their recent efforts in raising in excess of $2,300.00 for our nominated charity, Spiritus Alina.

Parent Survey Results

Last term the College ran a Parent Satisfaction Survey. 463 surveys were distributed electronically and we had an excellent response rate of 42.1%.

College Principal, Mr Tony Wood thanks the many parents who took the time to respond to our survey and said feedback from the survey will help inform our continuous improvement program.

Middle School Fashion Fare

What a wonderful evening of student lead activity this was on Thursday night.

The students in Middle School did a fantastic job in organising and running a wide variety of stalls and activities with a brilliant fashion parade being the highlight. College Principal Mr Tony Wood said it was a pleasure to be there and he was very proud of their efforts.

The Middle School fundraising event was held to raise money for Spirtus Alina, a charity that assists families and people with disabilities.

College commemorates ANZAC Day

 

Students at Fraser Coast Anglican College have a special way of remembering ANZAC Day, by inviting their Grandparents to the College for a special commemorative service on Wednesday 23 April.

 

FCAC Principal Tony Wood said the College has always played an active role in the ANZAC Day service and parade on the 25th of April.

 

 

“As ANZAC Day is remembered with a Public Holiday students were looking for a way to remember all those who had fought for their countries at school to enable the wider College community to join in,” Mr Wood said.

Horse whisperer comes to the College

 

Well known horse whisperer Guy Mclean recently spent some time at Fraser Coast Anglican College, entertaining the Junior School and Koala Kindy children with a mix of amazing horsemanship and bush poems. 

 Guy’s niece enrolled at the College this year and she managed to convince her uncle to come and perform for her new friends.

College Principal, Tony Wood said the school was delighted that Guy could give up some of his precious time and present his show to the children.

2008 OP scores

 “A wonderful result,” was how Tony Wood, Principal of Fraser Coast Anglican College greeted the results for the College’s 2008 Year 12 OP scores.

“The cohort as a whole performed above the state average which is a credit to the students and to the teachers who helped to prepare their students along the way,” Mr Wood said.

“We had a very high proportion of our students in the OP 1 – 5 range and 50% of our students scored an OP 11 or better.
