Fraser Flames, Fraser Coast Anglican College Sport
The College Sports Association has been set up as a formal sporting club, meeting once a term. Over 90 teams currently particiapte throughout the year in local evening and weekend sporting competition.
The "Fraser Flames" is the banner under which students, staff, family and friends compete in club competition within the Hervey Bay community. Sports currently played are Hockey, Soccer, Rugby Union, Touch, Netball and Triathlon.
Students are enthusiastically and capably supported by the College Sport Association and its members and College staff, to achieve to their best of their own potential. Our large group of volunteer coaches, managers, supporters and sponsors make it possible to offer highly equipped teams and state of the art playing gear with games played all year round in a variety of sports.
Sporting Involvement and Competition
- Club (Hockey, Netball, Soccer, Touch, Rugby Union and Triathlon)
- Local Interschool
- Zone, district, regional and state representation.
Sports offered at the school are:

- Cheerleading
Within the College students participate in Inter-House Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics at both Primary and Secondary level. From the College carnivals, students may be selected to participate at the Fraser District (Secondary) and Hervey Bay Zone (Primary) Carnivals, competing against other schools from Hervey Bay and Maryborough. Students may then be eligible to compete at Wide Bay Carnivals, which then progress to Queensland and ultimately National competition.
Objectives of the Fraser Flames Sports Association
- To provide an environment conducive to the development of positive sporting attitudes - teamwork, team spirit, enjoyment, commitment, loyalty, desire to achieve etc.
- To promote sport and a healthy lifestyle.
- To provide an environment where young children and young men/women can develop their sporting skills through a planned program (spanning Preparatory school - Senior) achieving accreditation and recognised standards.
- Providing and developing facilities.
- Providing equipment.
- Maintaining self-sufficiency in funding.
- Developing and maintaining distinctive and effective uniforms.
- Seeking and obtaining sponsorship.
- Being involved in Sporting Codes as selected and reviewed by the General Committee.
As with the P&F Association the Sport Association shall be deemed a committeee of the Principal. Whilst the Principal will delegate the duty of management of the Association to the Director of Sport and the General Committee, final responsibility for the conduct of the Association lies with the Principal of the College.
