For more information please see “A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR”

Welcome

Welcome to the web page of the Fraser Coast Anglican College Endowment Foundation Limited (the Foundation).

The Foundation is dedicated to raising funds to support the long-term financial security and independence of Fraser Coast Anglican College and assist the College in realising major projects and initiatives critical to the ongoing success of our exceptional learning environment.

The strength of the Fraser Coast Anglican College lies in the spirit of its community. Our broad community of teachers, staff, parents and alumni investing in the education of our youth and nurturing the body, mind and spirit of our students has the power to transform our country and shape the world around us.

Leaders and Boards of Independent Schools continue to face a complex array of financial considerations every year including:

  • Decreasing government funding
  • Increasing competition to attract and retain exceptional staff
  • Inflationary pressures impacting Australian families
  • The constant need to modernise facilities and learning environments to maintain excellence
  • Funding critical capital projects and modern facilities
  • Establishing and growing scholarships and bursaries that enhance access
  • Support of innovative programs that would otherwise be financially out of reach

Contributions will have a lasting impact, helping us to fund innovative programs that will prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of life, enhance our educational facilities to offer the best learning environment and provide scholarships that open doors to deserving students.

A message from the Chair:

Welcome to a new and exciting chapter in the history of Fraser Coast Anglican College.

Back in 2005 the then College Foundation commenced operation with the object of fund raising for all manner of things that the College would need. While those funds raised still exist, the Foundation itself ceased operation many years ago.

Mrs Anne Patterson has been working tirelessly, behind the scenes for the last twelve months plus, to fulfill all the legalities in bringing to life the Fraser Coast Anglican College Endowment Foundation Limited, a completely new entity that complies with current Australian Tax Office (ATO), and Australian Charities and Not-for profits Commission (ACNC) regulations and other legal requirements.

The committee have been meeting monthly to discuss fundraising ideas and to monitor and sign off on all the considerable documentation required to establish the new Foundation.

The i’s have been dotted and the t’s crossed and the new Foundation is ready to fly.

The ‘old’ Foundation will be wound up as the structure is non-compliant with current ASIC, ACNC and ATO rulings and unable to apply for philanthropic grants in its current form.

A Special General Meeting of the OLD Foundation has been called to be held on 30 October 2025 at 3.30pm in the College Library.

Details of the event will be advertised on the College Facebook page and the Alumni page. This will allow any interested parties to come together at the winding up of the old entity and register interest to be part of the new Foundation.

Backdrop

The history of the College has its roots in the parishes of Maryborough and Hervey Bay. It was a vision that started back in November 1991 and began to be formed into a reality through 1992 with parishioners from Maryborough and Hervey Bay. That vision was to see the Anglican Church establish a school in the Fraser Coast district, to contribute to the education and development of young lives in the local communities, in an environment founded and shaped by the Christian faith.

The College commenced operations in a business office at 67 Main Street, Pialba on 1 July 1994. Our Foundation Principal was Mr Grahame Ginn (1994-2004).

Situated on 64 acres of scenic bushland, the College opened its doors to 138 students from Year 1 to 8 on 31 January 1995, and was officially Blessed, Dedicated and Opened on Saturday 1 April 1995 at a ceremony in the College grounds, officiated at by the Most Reverend Peter Hollingworth, Archbishop of the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane.

Fraser Coast Anglican College Endowment Foundation Limited (NEW Foundation) is a new philanthropic entity limited by guarantee and established as part of a corporate restructure in 2023 to embrace changes required by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

The entity is registered as a Deductible Gift Recipient where voluntary donations to the NEW Foundation’s Public Ancillary Fund, over $2, are tax deductible. The entity is governed by The Corporation of the Synod of the Diocese of Brisbane.

The previous Fraser Coast Anglican College Foundation Limited (OLD Foundation) was a public company limited by guarantee that was established during 2001, to assist in securing the advancement of the College.

The NEW Foundation continues the aims of the OLD Foundation to gather the skills, experience and support of Past Students, Parents and Friends of the College, and the broader community, to assist the College to plan for the future with confidence and is a critical part of the College community.

The operations of the NEW Foundation will continue to be focused on fundraising and philanthropic services but may develop in the future to maintain business activities for the College.

The Foundation is proud of its prior achievements to date and recognises past donations in time and money of the entire College community and local businesses as it embarks on assisting in the next stages of development in the College.

The NEW Foundation Board will continue to embrace and support the College’s goals and objectives through fundraising and, in consultation with the College Principal and College Council, will continue its role in ensuring planned projects come to fruition.
